Although being trapped in the libraby isn’t so bad when I have a window view to the beautifully white wonderland that is outside! There is something about the effect of multiple layers of white-on-white which make the skeletons of trees and silhouettes of birds look like an illustration of one of my very best dreams. There are so many gentle shadows on the landscape and an indeterminable depth. Somehow I’m really going to miss all this snow.

“London Bridges” - This Is Ivy League

What I have been staring at for the past 3 days. YEAH!

School is wrapping up (somewhat) nicely. The rehabilitation project came to a really nice finish and I was really proud of the result. Now I only have this nitiwit and a pitiful Geography exam left.

I’ve booked my plane ticket for Denmark, chosen courses and received my visa in the mail! But I still don’t have a place to live. Transatlantic apartment hunting in foreign language seems kind of difficult this time of year…

some character sketches for the rehabilitaion design we’re...

some character sketches for the rehabilitaion design we’re currently working on.

Hangin’ at the airport 2 hours before my flight… to Halifax! Even though I have two final design projects and a term essay due within two weeks…

Today is the kind of twinkling, so-sunny day in which (almost) everyone passes smiles in reactive succession - enough to keep you beaming the entire day. I also successfully handed in my Danish residence permit application today in a single try - a feat which has been known to take up to four visits!

This will be my rush hour traffic in less than 2 months.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything from him so far; Soft Airplane was my soundtrack to summer. I also think of Beijing’s watercube everytime I see the title.

BRILLIANT photo set by Henry VIII’s Wives. Very obscure website, will let you know when I find out more/who!

Also went solo to a movie filled with solely with cotton tops tonight.
I hate being a student.

Also - Books I Read Over Summer 2009!

Kafka on The Shore by Haruki Murakami

A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews

The Last Landscape by William H. Whyte

Jimmy Corrigan: Smartest Kid on Earth* by Chris Ware

Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

Ham On Rye by Charles Bukowski

Epileptic* by David B.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

George Sprott* by Seth

Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut

Berlin Book I*

Berlin Book II*

The Experience of Place by Tony Hiss

* denotes a graphic novel.

All highly recommended. As you can see, I worked lots, did little, watched many sunsets.

Saw this guy play in a tiny attic a week or so ago with Michael. He was a one-man show that blew everyone away. It very much felt like the house was exploding with sound. After a long debacle, we could only describe his drumming skill as “crazy”. This song is somewhat atypical; he’s maybe a little noise-punk, maybe a little amazing. Go daniel francis doyle!

Since moving into the new, tiny apartment I have been relying on wireless from 2 blocks away, and have thus neglected the internet somewhat. Only two weeks into classes and it feels like months. very much routine, very much work. apologies!

Also had an excellent and hoppin’ time last night at Bottin, but a few too many brownies bogged us down.
Just got back from the most wonderful birthday ever. Boardwalk picnic with sharp and sweet cheeses, best bagels, strawberries and cucumbers at PIMMS o’clock (now officially my new favourite cocktail). During my favourite late afternoon light, we sat on a relatively un-bustling island of boardwalk. I would show you, but it wasn’t quite a time for pictures. Best presents including a lovely book about construction of The High Line (1930s - recent makeover, see above), Danish lesson MP3s and tons of Doscher’s French Chew. Mmmm.

And apologies for my absence. I have been without steady internet for the past two months - a nice change which allowed for much reading. I also returned south a week early to support the fam through some tough times as of late.

Excited to move into new apartment and kick ass at school.

iichlits:
